Pierre-Yves Paquette
Innovative, modern and uniquePierre-Yves Paquette teaches at the École de Joaillerie de Montréal (Montreal Jewellery School), from which he graduated with honours in 2000. He was a finalist in the 1999 Niche Student Awards and a Canadian finalist in the 2000 International Competition for Young Fashion Designers held in Paris, and in 2004 and 2005 he went on to participate in numerous exhibitions and his creations have travelled throughout the province of Québec.
« I am curious and energetic, the type of person who likes movement and who hates monotony and repetition. In fact, I simply can’t live with repetition. I take great pleasure in designing and creating all types of objects; I love creating. I enjoy solving complex problems and I strive to understand my environment, to the best of my ability. »
Pierre-Yves is an artist jeweller who searches constantly for innovative and unconventional techniques. He is influenced by stark, modern architecture with its strong lines and powerful materials. He works with precious metals that provide rich, distinct textures. His creations breathe a strong sensibility that decorates, sculpts, enhances, illuminates and glorifies the human body.
